Last night in the *69 Art Lounge, we had our first official opening night ever for a show -- Meta Constantine's incredible installation, Uzamaki - The Purgatory Lounge. This party was coordinated by Robin, who did such an awesome job Meta put her in his Picks with high praises! Also, Niko Lyle was spinning, so you know we all danced it out. More event pics on the *69 blog.

Something new this year
Saint Clare is so full of love it spills onto this blog pretty regularly, so I don’t think I need too many words today. Instead, I will let these images from throughout the year show us again why we really couldn’t ask for too much more this season when we all have each other.
Happy holidays!
Love,
Pris, Orson, Roland, Robin and Graham

Definitely naughty
Yesterday I had the privilege of taking part in an impromptu photo shoot with crazy-wonderful photographer Penelope Sideshow. Here are a few pics from the shoot, but her body of work is on her Flickr photostream so please check it out at:

A New Character has Rolled into Town.
This crazy guy was spotted in the sky above Saint Clare island this afternoon. I yelled up to him to say, "WTF?", and he shouted something back. It sounded rather muffled, but from what I could make out - it sounded like, "This monday night (dec 22) at 9-11pm SLT I will be delivering my wares to the good and bad children of SL at Computer Club Records." Hmm. Good thing I was at the right place, at the right time...to receive all of that very-specific information.

A world of your kind
I am thrilled to report that Orson has completed the villas in the Harbor and they look spectacular!
The original idea was to base the design of the homes on those in rl Santorini, Greece. Orson did his magic and from that basic "Santorini" concept, made the buildings livable, to scale, and created custom textures and an unbelievable palette that looks ethereal in sunrise, midday, sunset or evening settings. He also worked with the land, barely touching the original landscape and building upwards for an incredible ocean view from almost every window in each home. Orson took on this challenge with a generous grace, and this project -- like all of his work -- is flawless.
Thank you, Orson, for everything.

Midday.

Grace
I am going to start this post with a lecture, and end it with grace.
My parents had their own upbringing influenced by European immigrant parents and family and passed their very strong ideas about what was "right" and "wrong" to me and my little brother -- very little fell into a gray area. For example, in our house we were never allowed to refer to Thanksgiving as "Turkey Day"; my father felt that the silly holiday nickname -- used affectionately by almost everyone else in the country -- was wrong, diluting the essence of the celebration and it's meaning, emphasizing extravagance instead of a time for reflection and being with people you care about. My father is not a humorless man, and so I have to think about the nuanced and very adult message he sent to me and my brother by setting this rule, and maybe on this one thing I will allow he was exactly right. :)
We didn't pray before a Thanksgiving meal, but just went around the table and said what we were thankful for, like a lot of other families do. I do like the idea of calling that moment "grace," no matter what your views. I define grace as a way to live your life (and SLife) every day, with gratitude for every moment and faith in those you love.
In Second Life, we can all be especially thankful this year that Robin has recently joined us on Saint Clare; Roland continues to teach us how to have fun in unexpected ways; Orson literally shelters us with the strength and vision of his beautiful designs and keeps us all mellow with his easy-going spirit; and Graham touched us with his humor and sweetness. Today, as always, I am thankful we can all move through our real and second lives together with beauty, compassion, kindness, silliness, laughter and music.
I think I can sign this for everyone.
Happy Thanksgiving,
Pris, Orson, Roland, Robin and Graham

Bisous, Graham
When I first envisioned Saint Clare, I knew what I wanted it to be and the kind of people I wanted to share it with. So far, I have been incredibly, amazingly lucky: out of tens of thousands of people isl, I met Orson, Roland and Graham. All three men have become intrinsic parts of Saint Clare's nature. So, I am selfishly sad to hear Graham will be leaving Saint Clare, but I am very happy it is because rl is taking an exciting new turn for him.
I met Graham when I worked at Popscene almost a year ago. I don't remember if I started talking to him because he is French and I am a raging Francophile or if he tried hitting on me. :P In all honesty, I think we just started talking about music. And music talk led to travel talk..and travel led to people..and people somehow led back to music.
Even though Graham threatened to eat the ducks in the Harbor so many times I ended up naming them Pâté and Cassoulet, I know Saint Clare was special to him, too. I hope he doesn't mind that I share this, but Graham grew up in Marseilles, a port town in France. He enjoyed Saint Clare's harbor in a way that was very specific to his memories of family and childhood, the way we have all found something on SC to connect with. Maybe the beaches are your rl touchstone that remind you of home, or the Harbor, or sitting around the fire at night. I personally will always remember the afternoon Graham told me about Marseilles while we stood on SC's dock and fed the ducks.
Lots of love from all of us Graham! Thank you for being a part of Saint Clare from the beginning. Thank you for teaching me what I had been doing wrong when I made quiche. :) Thank you for being a sweet and loyal friend, which is rare irl and even rarer isl.
Between you and me? I am confident Graham will come back to visit us. Le Diable chie toujours au même endroit. :D
Bisous et je t'embrasse, mon ami.

Computer Club Records, open for business!
After a few months of off-and-on work, we finally launched our first official storefront! CLICK HERE to TP to the store, for a look. You might be wondering - "What the hell is in your store??" To answer, we have 3 categories of products available.
1. CCR Second Life Singles Series
-For 150L you and your avatar walk away with an mp3, digital t-shirt and poster, note from the band, digital artwork for display in-world, and lyrics. We've launched the series with singles from 4 artists:
001 - Gileah and the Ghost Train - "The Satellite"
002 - With Hatchet, Pike & Gun - "The Hands"
003 - City of Ships - "Night Vision"
004 - X-AM - "As Love Permeates the Air"
2. A few select releases from our back catalog. Right now we have about 10 up, and even 2 new releases (The Onslaught Dynamo/Coyote Throat split & the X-AM "is in love" record). Prices vary depending on the release, and all come with digital artwork for display in-world.
3. T-Shirts designed by me (Roland). The designs are fairly juvenile and fun, and are super cheap at only 25 Lindens a pop. They even come with 2 free song downloads, just for the heck of it.
As of today, I just put up a new section for freebies. Thus far, for the price of 0 Lindens, you can nab:
-a 13-track sampler of Computer Club artists present & past
-a slew of digital Computer Club T-shirts in varying colors and cuts
And soon I'll even have a section for nerdy gestures. Righteous. Now where's my pocket protector?
-Roland

The Build, Day 4..."I'm OK!"
There was a minor incident involving Orson, rezzing, giant stairs and smushed avis. While my attorneys and I await the Worker's Comp claim, I want it noted here that Orson distinctly called out "I'm OK!" from underneath the rubble.[note to self.."hardhat area signage...look into Union builders..."]
Here is Orson looking much more large and in charge. We haz stairs!

And then things got weird
Things began somewhat innocently, as usual. Isn't Kylarai adorableness?
**puts Ky in my pocket**
You would trust that faise, right? You would be wrong.
Johnny BBQ insists on singing "Under the Sea" (until I kick him).
JBBQ passes out "manbo!" maracas to everyone...and then things got weird. Like, Ky stopped waxing, for one. [insert your own joke about Ky's maracas here]
Leiche takes his watermelon very seriously.
Add Bakers, Electric, Danny, some nachos, a cow, batman and maracas..and you haz a party.
